A Closer Look At Air Conditioning Technology

Submitted by: Adrianna Notton

A lot of people have never before read an article that provides a generalized view of common air Conditioning systems, and that is exactly what this article is going to be doing. The article will discuss the two most commonly seen types of systems as well as why they are important.

There are some regions in which an A/C system is something that a home owner can simply not do without. These areas might be very hot for most parts of the year, even during the winter and fall regions. A lot of these regions are not only very hot but also quite dry as well. People that own a home within such a region are gong to consider some type of A/C system as a necessary part of everyday life.

The most simple type of A/C unit is commonly referred to as a “window unit” by most people, and this is because it is a smaller device that fits into most window seals. The idea behind such a device is to give consumers a machine that offers all the features of a larger one but that fits into a package that is small enough to be placed into the average window frame.

There are many types of homes (especially moderate to large sized homes) that are going to have a full fledged A/C system installed. These systems typically consist of three major components and the first major component is the condenser unit. This part of the system is typically located outside of the home and has the fan that generates the cool winds and pulls the hot winds out.

The second major component to any larger A/C system is going to be the air handler. The handler part of the device is typically going to be located above the ceiling or within the attic, and this is the part of the device that is used is direct the traffic of cooler flows that are coming in and warmer flows that are going to be removed from the home.

Each room within a home that has a larger system installed is probably going to be equipped with some type of access grate. This is how the cooler winds enter into the room to change the temperature. Connected to each one of these grates is what professionals typically refer to as the duct work. The duct work is all connected to the air handler and this is how the system works as a whole.

The one part of a larger system that is more commonly seen by the homeowner more than any other part would have to be the thermostat. This is simply the electrical control panel on the wall that is used to turn the system on and off and also to change the temperature at which it is currently running.

When it comes to air Conditioning systems, there will always be those people with smaller homes that prefer window systems. There will also be people with larger homes that prefer the larger type of system that was discussed.
